Diversity grant recipient in 2021 from the National Association for Science Writers (NASW). The goal of my project was to raise greater awareness on issues of science, religion and race and encourage sustained engagement with underrepresented groups. The grant made the following articles possible:

Science Communication to Faith Communities

Organized and led an interfaith panel at the National Association for Science Writers 2022 conference. The session focused on ways to build trust equity and combat misinformation on polarizing topics, particularly on vaccines and climate change. Panelists included: Deb Haarsma, BioLogos, President; Fatimah Jackson, Howard University, Professor of Biology and Director of the W. Christian Women in STEM

Served as a panelist alongisde Dr. Leslie Wickman , Dr. Se Kim, and Dr. Jennifer Wiseman for the “Wonderfully Made: Women in STEM” event. We shared our own stories and experiences as Christian women in science. The event was hosted by the Museum of the Bible.
